IOI Regional President and Slovenian Ombudsman Pay Visit to Beregsurány and Fehérgyarmat

In the company of Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma, Greek Ombudsman and President of the European Region of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) Mr. Andreas Pottakis and Slovenian Ombudsman Mr. Peter Svetina and his Deputy paid a visit to the reception points at Beregsurány and Fehérgyarmat on 17 March 2022.

The ombudsmen inquired about the operation of the Beregsurány and Fehérgyarmat reception points, and the experience gained by the staff on duty at these locations, including that of the health task force and the volunteers of Caritas Hungary.

The delegation was received by Police Colonel Dr. József Seres, Deputy Director General of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing (OIF) at the Fehérgyarmat reception point, who gave information about the activities of the OIF carried out at the Hungarian–Ukrainian border.
