Visiting the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Remand Prison
Dr. Ákos Kozma and his colleagues conducted an on-site inspection in the framework of the Optional Protocol to the Convention Against Torture (OPCAT) National Preventive Mechanism (NPM) at the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Remand Prison on 1 December 2022.
The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary was received by Lieutenant General, Director General Dr. Tamás Tóth, and Colonel, Commander of the institution Ákos Horváth. The Ombudsman was given detailed information on the operation of the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Remand Prison and the work of the staff on duty.
The Ombudsman will report on the experience of the visit.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, Dr. Ákos Kozma, visited the Vámosszabadi Reception Centre, operated by the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.
Dr. Kozma was joined by Dr. Domonkos Wildner, General Director for Police Complaints. They were welcomed by Brigadier General Dr. Sándor Gömbös, Director General of the Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.

The session focused on Report no. B/7848 on the activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary and his deputies in 2023.
