Ombudsman Attends Children’s Day Event of Save the Children International
Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma attended the event organised by Save the Children International in Városliget on 29 May 2022.
Two hundred disadvantaged children were invited to the weekend Children’s Day event from several parts of the country and Nagyvárad (Oradea, Romania) this year as well, and a fifty-member group of children also arrived from a village near the Ukrainian-Hungarian border called Tiszakóród.
It is a key goal of Save the Children International to support, and improve the living conditions of children who live with disabilities, orphans and those who are socially disadvantaged, furthermore, to support children’s homes.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, Dr. Ákos Kozma, visited the Vámosszabadi Reception Centre, operated by the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.
Dr. Kozma was joined by Dr. Domonkos Wildner, General Director for Police Complaints. They were welcomed by Brigadier General Dr. Sándor Gömbös, Director General of the Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.

On 29 October 2024, Dr. Ákos Kozma, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, and Dr. Elisabeth Sándor-Szalay, Deputy Commissioner for the Rights of National Minorities in Hungary, attended the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Nationalities in Hungary. The session focused on Report no. B/7848 on the activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary and his deputies in 2023.
