On behalf of the Hungarian Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights as a National Human Rights Institution, Anna Martinez-Zemplén attended the Geneva-based regional forum of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, which was aimed at creating an opportunity for a direct, personal exchange of experience and best practices related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, as well as the discussion of challenges.

As Commissioner for Fundamental Rights László Székely explained in his letter, gender identity is an organic part of the diverse human personality: an unalterable core property on the basis of which no one should be discriminated against. The expression and acceptance of gender identity is a fundamental human right.

On 19 March 2019, László Székely, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights received in his office the delegation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe on its monitoring visit to Hungary.

At the beginning its 20-day inspection visit to Hungary, the delegation of the European Convention for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) (Council of Europe) met with the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and his colleagues on 19 November, 2018.
