The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights paid an introductory visit in Brno to the Czech Public Defender of Rights
On 22 January 2020, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma travelled to Brno where he carried out negotiations with Public Defender of Rights Anna Šabatová and Deputy of the Public Defender of Rights Monika Šimůnková.

On 21 January 2020, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma travelled to Bratislava where he met Ombudswoman Mária Patakyová, Secretary General Marián Török and Adviser for internal and foreign relations Júlia Šebová in the Office of the Public Defender of Rights of Slovakia.

“Thirty/30 – Anniversary volume in honour of the Convention on the Rights of the Child”
The work entitled “Thirty/30 – Anniversary volume of the ombudsman in honour of the Convention on the Rights of the Child”, published by the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, pays tribute to the Convention on the Rights of the Child adopted by the United Nations in 1989, which had its 30-year anniversary last year. In the title of the volume, the second “thirty” refers to the fact that the main part of the text encompasses the presentation of a considerable number – altogether 30 – of the ombudsman’s reports which has been published in the recent period in the field of children’s rights.

On 17 December 2019, Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma travelled to Moscow where he participated in the international conference entitled “Human rights protection in Eurasia: exchange of best practices of ombudsmen” at the invitation of High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatyana Nikolayevna Moskalkova.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and His Deputies Presented the 2019 Justitia Regnorum Fundamentum Awards
On 9 December 2019, the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights hosted the 2019 Justitia Regnorum Fundamentum Awards Ceremony in the Saint John Paul II Hall of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Pázmány Péter University.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights participated in an international conference organised on the occasion of the human righs Day in Cyprus
On the occasion of the Human Rights Day, the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen (AOM) and the Ombudsman of Cyprus organised an international conference entitled “The Venice Principles in Strengthening the Ombudsman Institution” on 10 December 2019 in Nicosia. Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma also participated in the consultation.
