Secretary General Dr. Balázs Könnyid Receives Staff Members of International Committee of the Red Cross

On 23 March 2022, Regional Migration Researcher of the International Committee of the Red Cross Ms. Jessica Chillemi and Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross to Hungary Mr. Frédéric Boyer were received by Secretary General Dr. Balázs Könnyid at the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights.

On 23 March 2022, Regional Migration Researcher of the International Committee of the Red Cross Ms. Jessica Chillemi and Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross to Hungary Mr. Frédéric Boyer were received by Secretary General Dr. Balázs Könnyid at the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights.

During the meeting, the Secretary General provided information about the legislation related to the refugee situation, the current situation at the Hungarian–Ukrainian border section, the operation of the temporary regional offices at Záhony and Beregsurány, and the on-site experience gained by the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights so far. The Secretary General also elaborated that the staff members of the OCFR provide administrative and legal assistance to the refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine at the Hungarian–Ukrainian border section, and they also assist in the humanitarian relief efforts.
