null Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Holds Online Consultation with Chief Ombudsman for New Zealand

On 24 March 2022, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma held an online consultation with Chief Ombudsman for New Zealand Mr. Peter Boshier about the issue of the situation of people arriving in Hungary, fleeing the war in Ukraine.

During the meeting, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights gave information about the current situation at the Hungarian–Ukrainian border section, the circumstances of the reception of refugees arriving in Hungary, fleeing the war in Ukraine, and the measures taken to help them.

Dr. Ákos Kozma also informed Chief Ombudsman for New Zealand Mr. Peter Boshier about the operation of the temporary regional office set up by the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights at the Záhony railway station, as well as of the information point opened at the reception point in Beregsurány the week before, and the experience gained at these locations so far.
