On 30 September 2021, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights attended the ceremonial hallowing of a memorial cross, which had been set up at Ásotthalom in honour of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress.

On 30 September 2021, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights attended the ceremonial hallowing of a memorial cross, which had been set up at Ásotthalom in honour of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress.


The memorial cross – the last of twenty-one such monuments – made in commemoration of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress was erected by DALERD South Great Plain Forestry Zrt. in the Gárgyán Forest, next to the recreation park.


At the hallowing ceremony, talks were delivered by dr. László Kiss-Rigó, bishop of the Szeged-Csanád Diocese, Mr. Sándor Szentpéteri, Deputy State Secretary for Forests at the Ministry of Agriculture, and dr. Ákos Kozma, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights.
