Renovation of Veszprém-Gyulafirátót Children’s Home Continued

The renovation programme for children’s homes is continued in 2023 as well. On 21 February 2023, Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma paid another visit to the Gyulafirátót Children’s Home to find out about the next phase of the renovation efforts. The complete internal renovation of the inclusive care children’s home has become possible as a result of the cooperation of the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, the National Headquarters of the Hungarian Prison Service and VERGA Veszprémi Erdőgazdaság Zrt.

The Ombudsman’s renovation programme of children’s homes was launched at the initiative of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights in 2021, as part of which last year, internal refurbishment work was performed, the fence of the facility was renovated and two garden pavilions were also built for the children’s home in Gyulafirátót, as a result of the joint efforts of the National Headquarters of the Hungarian Prison Service and VERGA Veszprémi Erdőgazdaság Zrt.
