Szentlőrinc Group Home Renovated at Ombudsman’s Initiative

The renovation of the Szentlőrinc Group Home of the Saint Ágota Child Protection Service was completed, which effort was taken in the framework of the ombudsman renovation program of children's homes. Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma and Deputy Director General for Finance and IT, Police Major General Tamás Farsang paid a visit to the institution on 22 December 2022 and they held a delivery ceremony at the refurbished group home.

The National Prison Service Headquarters, supported by Mecsekerdő Zrt, among others, exchanged the laminated floors in the four rooms of the group home, painted the front fence of the building and performed sanitary painting in the full interior of the building. A garden pavilion was also built for the residents in the courtyard. 
 


 

Besides reviewing the results of the modernisation, Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma also delivered toys and gifts to the Szentlőrinc group home, which were raised and donated to the children living there by the staff members of the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights.

The session focused on Report no. B/7848 on the activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary and his deputies in 2023.
