Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Visits Regens Wagner Home at Balatonmáriafürdő

On 16 November 2022, Dr. Ákos Kozma paid a visit to the home operated by the Regens Wagner Non-profit Foundation. The residential home at Balatonmáriafürdő, which provides comprehensive care to adults with disabilities, was shown to the Ombudsman by the leader of the home Andrea Balla.

Regens Wagner Non-profit Foundation was established by Bavaria-based Regens-Wagner-Stiftung, which had been operating there since 1847, in June 2000. The founder takes care of persons with disabilities at fourteen sites in South Germany. In addition to the Home, the foundation also runs a day-care centre and a guest house.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, Dr. Ákos Kozma, visited the Vámosszabadi Reception Centre, operated by the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.
Dr. Kozma was joined by Dr. Domonkos Wildner, General Director for Police Complaints. They were welcomed by Brigadier General Dr. Sándor Gömbös, Director General of the Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.

On 29 October 2024, Dr. Ákos Kozma, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, and Dr. Elisabeth Sándor-Szalay, Deputy Commissioner for the Rights of National Minorities in Hungary, attended the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Nationalities in Hungary. The session focused on Report no. B/7848 on the activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary and his deputies in 2023.
