Dr. Ákos Kozma Visits Central Transdanubian National Prison
On 16 November 2022, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and his staff members conducted an on-site inspection at the Székesfehérvár Facility of the Central Transdanubian National Prison in the framework of the Optional Protocol to the Convention Against Torture (OPCAT) National Preventive Mechanism (NPM).
The Ombudsman was shown around at the Székesfehérvár penitentiary institution by National Commander of the Hungarian Prison Service, Prison Lieutenant General Dr. Tamás Tóth, Prison Major General, Deputy Director General for Finance and IT of the Hungarian Prison Service Headquarters Tamás Farsang, as well as Prison Colonel, Prison Commander János Kurosa.
The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights will draw up a report about the visit.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, Dr. Ákos Kozma, visited the Vámosszabadi Reception Centre, operated by the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.
Dr. Kozma was joined by Dr. Domonkos Wildner, General Director for Police Complaints. They were welcomed by Brigadier General Dr. Sándor Gömbös, Director General of the Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.

On 29 October 2024, Dr. Ákos Kozma, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, and Dr. Elisabeth Sándor-Szalay, Deputy Commissioner for the Rights of National Minorities in Hungary, attended the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Nationalities in Hungary. The session focused on Report no. B/7848 on the activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary and his deputies in 2023.
