Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Gives Talk at International Ombudsman Conference in Turkey

In his presentation, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights discussed the challenges posed to the Ombudsman by the refugee crisis arising from the war in Ukraine and presented the work done by the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. He highlighted that the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights had set up three temporary regional offices and information points in order to provide direct legal and humanitarian help to those fleeing the war, at the Záhony railway station, at Beregsurány and at the Budapest-based BOK Sports Hall. 

During the visit, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma held bilateral coordination talks with Chief Ombudsman of Turkey Şeref Malkoç on the further possibilities of cooperation between the two institutions.
