Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary Meets With Irish Ombudsman

Dr. Ákos Kozma, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary was hosted by Irish Ombudsman Ger Deering in Dublin on 2 June 2022.

At the meeting, the parties informed each other of the operation of their institutions. Dr. Ákos Kozma explained the operation of the six regional ombudsman offices that were opened in the first quarter of 2022, and he also shared the experience gained at the temporary information points set up on the Hungarian-Ukrainian border section and at the Budapest-based BOK Sports Hall. The staff of the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights has been working on the affected border section since the outbreak of the Ukrainian war, i.e. for over three months by now.
