Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Meets National Chief of Police

On 23 September 2020, Police Lieutenant-General, Chief Counsel of Police and National Chief of Police Dr. János Balogh received Dr. Ákos Kozma at the National Police Headquarters in Teve Street. During the visit, the National Chief of Police and his deputies informed the Ombudsman about the school guard system that started its operation on 1 September 2020.

Ombudsman Attends Opening Ceremony of Kis-Balaton Visitor Centre

On 22 September 2020, Dr. Ákos Kozma attended the inauguration ceremony of the Kis-Balaton Visitor Centre in Keszthely-Fenékpuszta. At the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered – among others – by Deputy Prime Minister responsible for National Policy, Church Affairs and Nationalities Zsolt Semjén and Minister of Agriculture István Nagy.

On 18 September 2020, Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma visited the Nagykereki – Bors II border crossing point at the Hungarian–Romanian border, where he was received by Head of the Border Police Office, Police Colonel Dr. Sándor Péter.

Visit to the Nyírbátor Site of the Guarded Asylum Reception Centre of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing and the Detention Centre of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Police Headquarters

On 18 September 2020, Dr. Ákos Kozma paid a visit to the Northern Lowland Regional Directorate of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing in Debrecen, where the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights was received by Police Brigadier General Dr. Attila Kiss. During the visit, the Ombudsman was provided with detailed information about the organisation and operation of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing, as well as about the measures that had been adopted by the institution for the prevention of the coronavirus pandemic. At the end of the visit, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights got acquainted with the operation of the Client Service as well.
