The Civil Consultative Body attached to the OPCAT National Preventive Mechanism held a meeting again on 3 December 2019
For the first time this year, Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma convened the Civil Consultative Body. In his opening remarks, he said that in the future, the NPM was planning to visit more places of detention, and the issuance of reports was to be speeded up, as well. The colleagues of the Office reported about the activity of the OPCAT NPM carried out last year. During the constructive discussion, the delegated members of the CCB made proposals on places of detention to be visited according to the points of the agenda, and also proposed themes to be examined by the NPM. The colleagues of the Office responded to the observations of the CCB-members, and assigned 5 December 2019 as the deadline for submitting their further proposals on places of detention to be visited.
