During their consultation with Ombudsman László Székely, held in the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, members of the delegation inquired about, inter alia, the ombudsman's possibilities in tackling migration-related problems, the effects of the new legal regulations deriving from the amendment of the Criminal Code in September, the enforcement of the rights of people deprived of their liberty and the ways they can turn to the Ombudsman. The meeting provided an opportunity to give an overview to the delegation of the activities, visits to places of detention and experiences of the National Preventive Mechanism, whose tasks, as of January 1, 2015, are carried out by the Ombudsman.
