The Ombudsman was received by Deputy Director General for Security and Incarceration of the Hungarian Prison Service, Major General János Schmehl and Correctional Commissioner, Colonel Sándor Péter Pancsusák. In addition to inspecting the Debrecen-based penitentiary institution with a capacity to house 180 persons, the Ombudsman also visited the prison factory, where the detainees prepare disposable health protective equipment.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, Dr. Ákos Kozma, visited the Vámosszabadi Reception Centre, operated by the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.
Dr. Kozma was joined by Dr. Domonkos Wildner, General Director for Police Complaints. They were welcomed by Brigadier General Dr. Sándor Gömbös, Director General of the Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.

The session focused on Report no. B/7848 on the activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary and his deputies in 2023.
