Visit of Student Delegation from Kiev University of Law

On 17 September 2019, a delegation from Ukraine paid a visit to our Office as part of the cooperation between the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information and the Kiev University of Law.

The Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights was represented by Gergely Szabó. In his presentation, Szabó gave a brief overview of the history of the Ombudsman institution in Hungary, and talked about the competence of the Commissioner and his Deputies, the possible ways to submit complaints, the laws concerning the Ombudsman, the inquiry procedures, as well as the key statistical figures of the Office for 2018. In the framework of their visit, the Ukrainian law students were given the opportunity to ask questions about the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and the Office, and they were also keen to hear about the Ombudsman’s activity regarding the promotion of the interests of children and youth.
