During the meeting, the Ombudsman gave information on the circumstances of the reception of people, especially children, arriving in Hungary, fleeing from Ukraine, and the measures taken to help them. Since the breakout of the war, 1.4 million children have fled from Ukraine.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, Dr. Ákos Kozma, visited the Vámosszabadi Reception Centre, operated by the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.
Dr. Kozma was joined by Dr. Domonkos Wildner, General Director for Police Complaints. They were welcomed by Brigadier General Dr. Sándor Gömbös, Director General of the Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.
