null Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Visits Győr-Moson-Sopron County Remand Prison

On 9 December 2021, Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma, responsible for performing the tasks of the National Preventive Mechanism (NPM) operating on the basis of the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture (OPCAT), conducted an on-site inspection at the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Remand Prison with his staff members.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights was received by Prison Lieutenant-General, Chief Prison Counsellor, Dr. Tamás Tóth, National Commander of the Hungarian Prison Service, Prison Colonel, Prison Counsellor Tamás Farsang, Deputy Director General for Finance and IT and Prison Major Nándor Czirják, acting Commander of the prison establishment.

The Ombudsman was informed in detail about the operation of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Remand Prison, and the current number of the detainees.
