Austria Celebrates Ten-Year Anniversary of OPCAT Mandate and Forty-Five Years of Ombudsman Institute

Dr. Ákos Kozma attended the conference organised in the Vienna Parliament for the 10th anniversary of the mandate of the Austrian Ombudsman Board in the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, i.e. OPCAT, as well as the 45th anniversary of the operation of the Austrian Ombudsman Institute on 7 June 2022.

Dr. Ákos Kozma attended the conference organised in the Vienna Parliament for the 10th anniversary of the mandate of the Austrian Ombudsman Board in the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, i.e. OPCAT, as well as the 45th anniversary of the operation of the Austrian Ombudsman Institute on 7 June 2022. 

After the conference, the Hungarian Ombudsman held coordination talks with President of the International Ombudsman Institute, i.e. IOI, Ombudsman of Western Australia Mr. Chris Field and member of the Austrian Ombudsman Board, Secretary-General of the IOI Mr. Werner Amon.

The session focused on Report no. B/7848 on the activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary and his deputies in 2023.
