null Chief Ombudsman of Turkey Visits Hungarian–Ukrainian Border in Company of Dr. Ákos Kozma

In the company of Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma, Chief Ombudsman of Turkey Mr. Şeref Malkoç and Ombudsman for the Rights of Women and Children Ms. Celile Özlem Tunçak paid a visit to the Hungarian–Ukrainian border to gain information in person about the current situation of the people fleeing the war in Ukraine, the circumstances of their reception and the measures taken to help them.

The Turkish delegation visited the OCFR’s temporary regional office set up at the Záhony railway station, as well as its information point opened at the Beregsurány reception point. Furthermore, the delegation paid a visit to the border crossing point between Csengersima and Petea at the Hungarian–Romanian border section.

The Ombudsmen also paid a visit to the Fehérgyarmat reception point, where Police Colonel Dr. József Seres, Deputy Director General of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing (OIF) received them and presented the activities of the OIF carried out at the Hungarian–Ukrainian border.
