The First Amendment to the Basic Law of Hungary[1]

Parliament, availing itself of its power to determine the Constitution and acting in its competence pursuant to Article 1(2)(a) of the Basic Law, amends the Basic Law as follows:

 

Article 1

(1)To the Final Provisions part of the Basic Law the following point 5 shall be added:

‘5. The Transitional Provisions to the Basic Law of Hungary (31 December 2011), adopted in accordance with point 3, shall be part of the Basic Law.'

(2) In Article 12(5) of the Basic Law the text part ‘President of the Republic' shall be replaced by the text ‘President of the Republic and former Presidents of the Republic'.

 

Article 2

Article 30 of the Transitional Provisions to the Basic Law shall cease to have effect.

 

Article 3

(1) This amendment to the Basic Law shall enter into force on the day following its promulgation.

(2)This amendment to the Basic Law shall be adopted by Parliament pursuant to Article 1(2)(a) and Article S(2) of the Basic Law.
