Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary Dr. Ákos Kozma held bilateral talks with Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitro Lubinec in Ankara, Turkey on 12 January 2023.

The renovation of the Szentlőrinc Group Home of the Saint Ágota Child Protection Service was completed, which effort was taken in the framework of the ombudsman renovation program of children's homes. Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. Ákos Kozma and Deputy Director General for Finance and IT, Police Major General Tamás Farsang paid a visit to the institution on 22 December 2022 and they held a delivery ceremony at the refurbished group home.

The National Prison Service Headquarters and VERGA Veszprémi Erdőgazdaság Zrt completed the completion of the first phase of the renovation of the Veszprém-gyulafirátót Children’s Home, in which they participated at the initiative of the Ombudsman.

Dr. Ákos Kozma and his staff members conducted an on-site inspection at the Baranya County Remand Prison in the framework of the Optional Protocol to the Convention Against Torture (OPCAT) National Preventive Mechanism (NPM) on 15 December 2022.

Dr. Ákos Kozma inspected the renovation of the Szentlőrinc Group Home of the Baranya County Network of Children’s Homes and Group Homes of the Saint Agatha Child Protection Service of the Szeged-Csanád Diocese on 15 December 2022.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary paid a visit to the Vértesszőlős Group Home of the Saint Ágota Child Protection Service of the Szeged-Csanád Diocese on 13 December 2022. The Ombudsman was received by Deputy Director-General of the Saint Ágota Child Protection Service Ms. Katalin András and Head of Institution Mr. István Zele.
