On 2 June 2015, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) will publish the findings of its research into the criminal labour exploitation of workers moving within or migrating to the EU. The report is the first to comprehensively explore all criminal forms of labour exploitation in the EU of workers moving within or into the EU, and shows that despite legislation banning the practice, labour exploitation is widespread in the EU.

The Babes-Bolyai University of Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca, Romania) awarded Ms Elisabeth Sándor-Szalay, the Deputy-Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, Ombudsman for the Rights of National Minorities living in Hungary and professor of the Faculty of International and European Studies of the National University of Public Service (Budapest) with the prestigious title of ‘Profesor Honoris Causa'. The awarding ceremony was held in the Aula Magna Hall of the Babes-Bolyai University on 27 February 2015. The title of "Profesor Honoris Causa" was recommended by the Babes-Bolyai University's Faculty of Law.

The Danish Institute for Human Rights established a blog for developing indicators to measure implementation of the rights of persons living with disabilities. On 29 December 2014, based on the results of the activities of the Office of Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, the Bureau of the International Coordination Committee of National Human Rights Institutions (ICC NHRI) granted "A" status accreditation to the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights. Carrying on with the practices of his predecessors, Dr László Székely, Commissioner for Fundamental Right paid a working visit to Békés County. After meeting personally with complainants in Békéscsaba and Gyula, he held a press conference on his experiences and findings. The Commissioner was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Dr Elisabeth Sándor Szalay, Ombudsman for the Rights of National Minorities, and Deputy Commissioner Dr Marcel Szabó, Ombudsman for Future Generations.

Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Dr. László Székely has nominated Dr. Elisabeth Sándor-Szalay, habilitated associate professor, former dean of the University of Pécs, director at the National University of Public Service, as his deputy in charge of the protection of the nationalities living in Hungary.
