Visit of Ukrainian law students to the Office
On September 13, a seven-member delegation paid a visit to our Office as part of the cooperation between the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information and the Kiev University of Law. The Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights was represented by heads of department Zsolt Kovács and Boglárka László, while the Kiev University delegation included six students and their rector Yurii Boshitsky. Zsolt Kovács gave a brief overview of the history of the institution of the Ombudsman in Hungary, the competence of the Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioners, the possible ways to submit complaints, the laws concerning the Ombudsman, the investigation procedures, as well as the average annual number and distribution of petitions. After the presentation, the Ukrainian law students were given the opportunity to ask questions about the Office, and a potential long-term academic cooperation between our Office and the Kiev University of Law was also outlined.
