null The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and His Deputies Presented the 2019 Justitia Regnorum Fundamentum Awards

On 9 December 2019, the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights hosted the 2019 Justitia Regnorum Fundamentum Awards Ceremony in the Saint John Paul II Hall of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Pázmány Péter University.

In his speech, Commissioner for Fundamental Rights dr. Ákos Kozma underlined the importance of the Human Rights Day.

The Justitia Regnorum Fundamentum Award was presented to dr. Albin Juhász-Laczik OSB, Headmaster of the Benedictine High School of Pannonhalma by Commissioner for Fundamental Rights dr. Ákos Kozma, whereas   the Association of National Self-Governments of the Nationalities and its current President, Mrs. Erzsébet Holler Racskó were distinguished by dr. Elisabeth Sándor-Szalay, Deputy Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, Ombudsman for the Rights of National Minorities. Dr. Gyula Bándi, Deputy Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, Ombudsman for Future Generations presented the recognition to dr. István Farkas, Co-Chair of the Association of Hungarian Nature Defenders.

The Justitia Fundamentum Regnorum Award, founded by the Ombudsmen in 2007, is granted by the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights for outstanding accomplishment, professional activities or career to those who have achieved or contributed to the achievement of extraordinary, exemplary results in the field of protecting human and civil rights, in particular the rights of the child and other vulnerable groups, the rights of national minorities and the environment.
