The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr Nils Muižnieks paid a visit at the Hungarian Ombudsman
During his three-day visit to Hungary, Mr Nils Muižnieks visited the office of Mr László Székely, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary. During this meeting, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights had consultation on the Hungarian Ombudsman’s role and opportunities, the actions and inquiries done in the current refugee crisis, as well as on the situation of immigrants and asylum seekers in Hungary. Mr László Székely and his colleagues presented the ombudsman’s on-site visits and the adopted resolutions related to the situation of refugees, including the Hungarian and the joint Visegrad statements of the four ombudsmen.
