null Ombudsman’s Visit to the Záhony Border Crossing Point

On 15 April 2020, Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma paid a visit to the Záhony – Čop border crossing point at the Hungarian-Ukrainian border.

The border crossing point at Záhony is currently the only road border crossing point which is open between Hungary and the Ukraine during the emergency declared due to the coronavirus pandemic. Hungary only allows the entry of international freight transport, passenger transit from 9.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m. and the entry of Hungarian citizens wishing to return home.

During his on-site visit, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights found out about all the measures that had been adopted for ensuring a smooth flow of traffic during the emergency ordered due to the coronavirus pandemic.
